Wherry Trip £30

A day out on The Albion, a 124yr old. Traditional Norfolk Wherry. Known as a “ black sail trader” she is one of only two remaining, commercial wherries, built specifically for the Broads. At their peak there were over 300 of these crafts, but now The Albion, is the only one for hire.

The day will begin at 9am. Bring a picnic lunch. Wear ,’ non slip’ sole shoes. Bring suitable clothing for being out in the elements all day, including sun screen.

The Wherry comes with its own crew, but everyone will have an opportunity to help sail this magnificent craft.

Teas, coffee, home made cake and biscuits are supplied throughout the day.

It’s a wonderful day out, gliding along the river under sail, through magical wetlands.

I shall be travelling down to Norfolk, on Saturday morning. Will plan a group meal for Saturday evening. More details nearer the time. I plan to stay Saturday night, in the Hemsby /Yarmouth area.  There are only seven spaces as last year's members on the waiting list have been given priority, so book quickly !
