About the event
A fun day out where we can play Pétanque, tennis, short mat bowls or practise your bowling/cricket in the nets to be held in the very pretty village of Ashley which is steeped in history and is even mentioned in the Doomsday Book of 1086. You will need a tennis racket or cricket bat and ball if you are using the tennis court or cricket nets. Pauline will also bring the croquet along. Please bring your woods if you are playing short mat.
Lunch will be at the quaint village pub "The George" at 1pm for those who want it. A menu will be provided so we can pre-order food. For those not wanting food they can continue to play until 2 pm
The Parish Council secured the lease for the new Ashley Recreation Ground in 2019, which supports six and a half acres, gaining Lotto and Tesco grants. The grounds include a circular walk around the field with stunning views over the Welland Valley.
