About the event

A county filled with natural beauty, situated on the east coast of England, with 50 miles of coastline and breathtakingly beautiful open skies. Here we can discover quaint villages and medieval towns, that for centuries have drawn in artists and writers, John Constable and Thomas Gainsborough, to name but two.

A possible programme may include:

Blue Badge walk of Ipswich - one of England’s oldest towns, set on the river Orwell.

Exploring Shotley and Landguard Point with a ferry trip across Harwich Harbour.

A visit to Sutton Hoo, an Anglo-Saxon burial ground, seen recently in the film The Dig, to include a walk in that area, with views of the river Deben.

Constable Country, visiting the area made famous by John Constable’s 18th century painting The Haywain at Flatford Mill. A walk and tour to be arranged.

A visit to Lavenham, one of England’s most perfect medieval towns - a tribute to more than 300 preserved ancient buildings.
